When it comes to embracing your own life as story, what obstacles get in the way of valuing your life as worthy of exploration?
The rhythm of the swing can be a lot like the inward and outward movement of the contemplative life. But there is a vulnerability in swinging and in the contemplative life, of trusting the momentum to move forward or backward, from centered self, out into the world.
What are you finding within the contemplative womb in your relationship with God? Are you still exploring your own story, incubating in the warmth of lavish love? Or are you ready to fledge, to soar on faith wings?
How would you describe the center point of listening? How do you define listening?
Abiding with God, self, and others requires a devoted commitment to explore what that means for you, and how spiritual direction may play a role in this commitment.
Engaging the imagination in the spiritual life I believe is how God intended for us to use this amazing brain function. After all “faith” is about believing what we cannot see. And “hope” plants a longing in something we have not yet received.
