Prayer Collage #2: Be There
This week’s prayer collage reveals both ordered steps along the path juxtaposed with the random gathering of history in the old photos and found objects to nest two eggs waiting to hatch. When I bring all the random parts and pieces of my own life through the framework or journey of the disciplined life, I am better equipped to create and craft and receive the possibility of new opportunities or idea waiting to be born within me.
This is the place of holy work, not self-righteous work, but the kind of work that flows and cascades from God-given passion and feels like delight, and sounds like joy, and tastes like richness. That unique calling planted within each one of us is expressed not just in what we do, but in how we are as we do whatever we do.
The two words on this collage encapsulate the prayer flowing from God who simply says, “Be there.”
To which I respond, “Make me willing, Lord. Amen”
Where are you being called today? How do you balance the disciplined life with the creative gathering of your own multi-faceted circumstance and history? How have they worked together to create meaning for you? In what ways are you showing up to a perceived calling to “be there?”
These are the questions you may want to explore in spiritual direction. Contact me via email or schedule a time for an introductory session here.
