At the Doorpost: A Virtual Year-end Mini Retreat
Over the past ten to 15 year I’ve taken a timeout at the end of every year for a personal retreat to reflect on all that the past year has opened up to me, and to reflect on the year to come. It’s one of my favorite spiritual disciplines that has come to be part of my personal liturgy through the seasons of life.
In a year when community and connection have come to be a treasured gift, I’m inviting you to join me in this prayerful pause through a two-hour mini retreat I’ve titled “At the Doorpost.” On December 30th, we will gather to bless the year past (yes, even a year like 2020), and welcome the year to come. In the tradition of the Ignatian prayer of examen, we’ll use a four-fold reflection of thanksgiving, lament, silence, and grace as we embrace all that has been given and all that we have offered over the past year.
I’ll share thoughts to inspire reflection, journal prompts and guided meditations, silence to listen for the Divine word within, and time to share our journeys together. You will also receive materials for continuing your journey into the New Year. I hope you’ll join me.
