Write it on my Heart
There’s something about the writings of the saints and the mystics of Christian faith throughout the centuries that invite me to explore (not compare) their extravagant devotion and a passionate intimacy with God as a doorway into my own life of faith.
“All shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well with your soul…” Julian of Norwich
“Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty…” Ignatius of Loyola
“What I do is live. How I pray is breath…” Thomas Merton
“May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith…” Teresa of Avila
The words and the prayers and the list could go on. Such words inspire me and call me to a deeper faith and fuller intimacy of knowing God and knowing myself. And these writings are great gifts to the people of God that often go unexplored.
One way I’m responding to this invitation is in creating and sharing each quarter of 2022 a “Write it on my Heart” Journaling Experiences with the saints. The brief time together will encourage us not just to read their words, but to allow those words to sink into our bones, to awaken something within for our own unique journey with God.
Each 90-minute journaling experience will open the door on the life of the saints, offer two brief readings from their writings, and will invite you to journal as you pray about what those words stir up within you. We’ll share together how journaling itself becomes an act of prayer and what the invitations are in your own life with God.
Here’s the schedule for these events which will be on Saturday morning 9 - 10:30 AM (PST). Click on any of these links to register now.
